Initial Eligibility Period

You have 30 days to enroll yourself and your eligible dependents for coverage. This 30-day initial eligibility period begins on your employment date and ends 29 days after that date. If your enrollment is not completed on or before the end of your initial eligibility period:

  • You will have to wait until the next Open Enrollment period to change your benefit elections, except as summarized in Making Changes During the Year.
  • You will be automatically enrolled in the core benefit plans that are paid in full by Clarity Credit Union.

Special enrollment rules apply if you terminate employment and are then rehired. Contact HR/Benefits for additional information.

For example: If you are hired on April 2, 2025, your initial eligibility period begins on April 2, 2025 and ends on May 1, 2025. Your benefit plan elections made during this period will be generally effective May 1, 2025, subject to you providing proper documents as required under the plans.

How to Enroll

Enrolling into the benefit programs is easy! Shortly after you are hired, you will receive a benefits package. This benefits package will provide you with all the information you need to enroll for benefits. Use the Clarity Credit Union Enrollment/Change Form before you go online and enroll for benefits.

You should keep in mind that if you are enrolling any dependents, you will need their full name, Social Security number, date of birth and any other documentation required by our various insurance carriers.
